I seem to remember someone telling me there was a quick on-off clip that allowed you to take the staysail stay off the deck fitting. My foredeck is a little spongy there so I’ll be sailing as a sloop instead of a cutter. And removing that stay will make tacking a much smoother process. Does anyone know that attachment is called and if it’s an easy job for a rigger?

I believe what you are asking about is called an Inner Fore-stay Lever. It should be pretty easy for a rigger to install if that is the only change that needs to be made.
