Self-tending Staysail

Does anyone have their staysail rigged to be self-tending? My Whitby 42 has a traveler in front of the mast that I assume was to rig the staysail to be self-tending. My understanding is that in this rigging configuration there is a block on the staysail clew and a line the runs from the traveler car to the block on the staysail and then back through a sheeve on the traveler before leading aft to the cockpit. If anyone has experience with this configuration, let me know how well it works.

That is how ours is rigged. We had Mack Sails do the install four years ago and have been happy with it. It makes the stay sail very easy to use with just one sheet.

If convenient, I would love to see a photo of the traveler arrangement.

Thanks in advance.
