Subscribe to the Forum

In the Forum, choose the Index tab.

For each Category, there is an envelope icon to subscribe.

Click each Category of interest to you (using the drop down box on the top of the Index page speeds up the process a bit) and click the envelope icon.

You should receive email when that Category has a new post.

My Brewer is fitted with a FRANCIS 1500 twin vertical Windlass. One drum for line and the second for chain. it is a great windlass and right now works just fine although a little noisy.
Does anyone know where I can find out more about this Windlass and is it still made by anyone? I am looking for a parts source and shop manual if I can get them.

The Francis 1500v, on my 1984 Brewer was made by HAMBLE CRAFT who also made horizontal windlasses and capstans. I have the install instructions, specs, wiring diagrams and gearbox drawings if anybody needs them.I have not tried too hard to contact them, they have a postal address but no internet presence.that I can find.
