I am contemplating replacing the bolt that attaches the bottom of the bob stay (solid 3/4" stainless rod) with a stainless shackle that I can use to attach a snubber. The stainless plate is glassed into the bow and has a turnbuckle inside the chain locker. I think that getting the rode down to water level will reduce the scope needed as the bow is quite high as you know. The anchor can generate quite a load and am wondering if the bob stay attachment point can withstand the high loads. Thanks, Peter
