Hi All,
I just bought a 1982 Whitby ketch but I have been unable to find the exact mast height for bridge clearance.
Can anyone help me out or direct me to a link with a spec sheet.
Many more questions to follow i'm sure.
Kindest Regards
Mark

Mark, congratulations and welcome aboard!
For an exact height you will have to measure it yourself. Typically from the factory I believe the Whitby 42s were in the 54'-55' range but there were variations. And after 40 years of modifications by previous owners, without measuring, I would fudge that with plus or minus 10'.

Thanks for the quick answer Scott.
Is there a site that would have information about boat layout/specs?

This site is the only site I know of. Under the Boats menu you'll find original specs and brochures from the factory but I don't think that mast height was listed. The brochures do show the original interior layout.

Mark,
Hey this is Jim and you can still get the plans from Ted Brewer for the Whitby 42, I have a full set and they really have come in handy.
When I head back down to our boat I will measure the mast to deck and to water line, I will also add the number for the gear on the top of the mast.
I was told that our boat could not do the highway bridges on the Okeechobee due too a 54 height limit, not on the railway bridge where you can do a limbo.
Congrats on your Whitby
54 feet sounds right.
