Have you considered tracing the leak to the cap rail sitting on the toe rail? Please take a look at the following article posted here on WBS.

I had same problem. I had high moisture readings in port and starboard roof and made a couple of test cuts to investigate. I ended up stripping both sides of roof and found dorade boxes had failed on both sides. The skin was very tough to remove even with moisture......the bond was incredible.Anyway the only rot was around the dorade boxes so I recored both sides and glassed over with a strong biaxial cloth. This was definitly a flaw at the time of construction so I would advice anyone with an older Whitby to check them out.
