I just replaced the aluminum baffles in the stbd tank with fiberglass baffles. I had a lot of corrosion, and the old baffles had come loose and were sloshing around in the bottom of the tank. I don't believe I had any leaks, though. What sort of sealant should be used inside the tank to repair a crack?

Ahoy all captains,

I recently was told that using chlorine bleach to sanitize the tank could be responsible for the "corrosion bloom" on the aluminum parts. For years we've used a few gallons of water in the tank along with a cup of bleach to rinse the tank in the spring. Perhaps we're ruining the aluminum lids in the Whitby tanks. Does anyone know?
