TOPIC: Lifeline height

Lifeline height 1 month 3 weeks ago #3042

I was just back at the boat last weekend doing some housekeeping and research for some boat projects, and forgot one crucial measurement....lifeline height.

Can anyone tell me what the standard height is for the lifelines on a Brewer 44??

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Brad

27 inch for the stanchion height.
Top lifeline 26.5, lower 14 inches.
This is for my Brewer 12.8

On ou W42 hull 321 “Shamal”, we replaced lifelines aft of the gates with 1 inch SS tubing “corral”. Local SS welder added 6 inches to the stanchions forward. 12 years later, you can’t see any sign they were extended. I’m 6’1 inch, over 200 pounds, feels much safer. Will get exact height later today. Remember better to use bare wire to catch corrosion early.

Terry,

Thank you very much....this has been nagging me for a month. I was sure it was over 24", but just trying to verify so I can get lifeline netting to keep the wandering child aboard.

Thanks again!!

David,

Thanks very much for the info.

I wish it was in the budget to change all the lifelines to a stainless rail all the way around, not just an extension. Unfortunately, not part of the upgrades during the current batch. Maybe in the future.

I will eventually get to changing the wire, but this measurement is to put up "toddler netting" around the perimeter and I needed the height to calculate the total netting purchase.

Thanks again!!

Brad
