Propeller Sources was created by Debi Shaimas
Good Day,
I need to replace the propeller on my 1979 Whitby 42 (hull #110).
Looking at the costs of the various folding props, I want to get a fixed 3-blade prop while I save to get a folding prop, at which time the 3-blade will become the backup.
That said, I have been researching online for propellers (new or used). I can find them with the right number of blades, pitch, etc. The problem comes with the shaft size. I have a 1.5 inch shaft.
Any suggestions or ideas on where I can get a replacement fixed blade prop?
THANK YOU!

When I re-powered Ocean Dove I installed a Campbell Sailer Propeller www.westbynorth.com/CampbellSailer.aspx
Great people to deal with and they will help you size the propeller for your engine.
You can check out My Old and New prop on www.sailblogs.com/member/oceandove/?xjMsgID=128385 to see the differences
The new prop has less drag and prop walk "Big Plus".
I am not a fan of feathering props to many moving parts.
Once you have a Campbell Sailer Prop installed you may not want any other propeller.

Thanks Derek. Looks like a great option. I will definitely check it out (and let them know who sent me)!
Can I ask what, if anything, your are doing for a prop lock while under sail?

I went the same route as Derek

I had a Campbell Sailer on my last boat and loved it. I have not tested it on TIH yet but am optimistic.

When I installed the new shaft I had a go cart disc brake rotor machined and installed on the shaft
I have not installed the caliper yet but when completed with a pull cable it should cost less than $250
It with be totally manual and not idiot proof
