fresh water pump was created by Everett Woodworth
because i am in the middle of complete rewire, fabricating mounts for large frame alternator, all new guages, all new battery bank etc. my engine is not running. one of the project in works is a water jacket 'bus heater' which well carry on from the hot water tank jacket. because i want a three way valve and check valve i need to know the flow direction of the cooling fresh water on the 254 Lehman... there is a 'top' connection' and a 'bottom' connection to the block. the diverter valve is fullproof in combination with the check valve in that a wrong valve can not be turned and cause damage but for sure it has to be the right directon. pulling a hose off would be an easy check normally but i am quite a ways from that, thanks, Ev

Hi Ev, I would need to get the workshop manual to see if it covers your question but a short cut would to be either ask the other 'Expert' Bob Smith, who is the founder of American Diesel Corp. or call then in Virginia. Their website is www.americandieselcorp.com/ but if you hit on him within this website it is probably just as effective. Your serial # or year of production for your boat is usually helpful when posing questions as engines do change and sometimes replaced with a newer version. Good luck on your project. Regards, Douglas
