Exhaust and Vent Loop configuration; Ford Lehman

Good morniing all!

Per several suggestions, I have removed the Ford Lehman engine and Borg Warner transmission and they are now being re-built by American Diesel and American Marine Transmissions.

I have been told that the exhaust muffler should be located about 3 inches below the exhaust manifold. I don't see how this is possible as the muffler sits on a shelf adjacent to the engine and exhaust manifold. I also need some help and guidance as to what the proper exhaust and vent loop should be.

I would appreciate any photos and advice anyone could give.

I am in the Maryland area and could travel to see an engine room and configuration if someone could accommodate me. I would like to see it myself before I undertake the re-installation. I will also be in the Ft.lAuderdale/Miami area for the Feb boat show if anyone is located in that area.

Thanks in advance for your great help.

Mike

Hi Mike

I'm not saying I've got it right but I did spend enough time worrying about it;

I'm in Miami, drop me a line at whitby42 at gmail.com and we can meet up during the boat show.

Regards

Gerry
